Paratransit & Veterans
View information about Martin County Public Transit's paratransit service, MARTY Access, and the Veterans Transportation Program.
MARTY Access
In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), Martin County Public Transit offers a paratransit service, MARTY Access, for persons with physical, cognitive, visual or other disabilities which functionally prevent them from using the fixed-route bus system permanently, temporarily or under certain conditions.
How it Works:
All applicants seeking eligibility for the ADA paratransit service must go through an eligibility determination process. The ADA paratransit eligibility application process includes, but not limited to:
- A medical verification form completed by a licensed physician describing the conditions which prevent the applicant from using the fixed route and how these conditions prevent the applicant from using the fixed route.
- A review of the applicant’s own assessment of their ability to use Martin County Public Transit fixed-route buses, and;
- A functional assessment performed by an Eligibility Contractor.
Applicants must reside in the urbanized ADA service area, within three quarters of a mile of MARTY's fixed route service area, provide proof of Martin County residency and a valid photo ID.
To apply for eligibility for the ADA paratransit service (MARTY Access) please complete the following application and review the following steps to get started.
1. Complete application:
Complete the MARTY Access Services Application. Incomplete forms will not be returned. A licensed physician must complete and sign the medical verification section. Once the application is completed, please submit by fax to (772) 320-3004, or you may mail to:
MARTY Customer Service Center
2401 SE Monterey Road
Transit – 2nd Floor
Stuart, Florida 34996
If you are unable to submit the application via the preferred methods (by fax or by mail), then you may drop off the application to the address above.
2. Application review:
Once the application has been submitted, it will be reviewed for legibility and completeness by MARTY Public Transit personnel.
3. Functional assessment:
If the application meets the necessary requirements, it will be sent to an external eligibility contractor who will contact the applicant and make arrangements for an in-home assessment.
The eligibility contractor will send a letter to the applicant and MARTY to inform of acceptance or denial with an explanation of the determination, as well as information about the appeals process in the event of denial.
