What is a Studio?

It features resources like Adobe Creative Cloud, powerful editing computers, MIDI keyboards, and a range of audio gear, including Yeti microphones and headphones available for checkout.

Designed with sound-dampening tiles, the Studios provide a quiet and professional space ideal for both recording and editing. This setup ensures that users can work in an acoustically treated environment, which is crucial for high-quality sound production. 

Reservations for the Studios can be easily made by phone or online, providing flexibility for users. The facilities are available at both the Blake Library in Stuart and the Cummings Library in Palm City.

Which branches have the Studios?

The Martin County Library System offers Studios at two branches: the Blake Library in Stuart and the Peter & Julie Cummings Library in Palm City.

How do I reserve the Studios?

To reserve a Studio, you can visit the library in person, call the front desk, or use the online reservation system. Reservations can be made up to one week in advance and as late as the same day.

How do I access the Studio equipment?

Access to Studio equipment is available during your reserved time. Specialized items, such as the Yeti microphone, can be checked out at the front desk for use within the Studio.

How long can I use the Studios?

You can reserve the Studios for a maximum of three hours per day. This allows ample time for recording, editing, or other creative activities.

Are the studios soundproof?

The Studios are sound-dampened but not entirely soundproof. While they reduce external noise, some ambient sounds may still be audible.

What's the difference between the studios and a study rooms?

Studios are designed for audio and video production, equipped with specialized tools like editing software and recording equipment. In contrast, study rooms provide a private space for reading, studying, or group work without specialized equipment.
