The Martin County Board of County Commissioners invites you to attend the State of the County Address on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Palm City New Hope. Join us as we take a look back at the highlights and accomplishments of 2024. Refreshments will be served.

Community Action Coalition Meeting
The Martin County Community Action Coalition unites community partners with the goal of improving behavioral health through prevention. Our primary efforts seek to measurably reduce alcohol and marijuana use in youth ages 12-17. Additionally, we partner with Tobacco-Free Florida and Overdose Data to Action to prevent tobacco use, as well as prevention of overdose from any substance. Parents, community members, and professionals of all sectors are invited to unite with Martin County through Drug-Free Communities.
Story Time 2-5 Years
Martin County's Children's Librarians love to read, but they also love to sing and dance! Join us for a story and early literacy activities.
According to Every Child Ready to Read @ Your Library, singing, talking, and playing are also important for developing early literacy skills. This interactive event may use bubbles, scarves, hand-held instruments or shaker eggs, loud music, and more. All adults are encouraged to participate with their children in this fun early literacy activity. Families are welcome!

Paws To Read - Session 1
Children have fun reading to trained therapy dogs. Readers gain confidence and improve their reading fluency.
The PAWS to Read program is a partnership with the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast. The recommended age for participation is 7 - 12 years. The participant must bring a book with them to each session to read to the dog. Registration is required. Register each child individually. Registration is for February 6, 13, 20, 27. This event will take place at the Blake Library Exploration Lab.

Parks And Recreation Advisory Board Meeting
It shall be the function of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board to advise the Board of County Commissioners on the planning and implementation of the Parks and Recreation Master Plan and to make recommendations on programs, services, acquisition and uses of parkland, sports, and recreation facilities as well as such other duties as may be assigned by the Board of County Commissioners.

Local Planning Agency Meeting
This meeting is televised live on MCTV Channel 20 (Comcast), on Channel 99 (U-verse), and online at www.martin.fl.us/watch-mctv.
The Local Planning Agency is a five-member board appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. The Local Planning agency reviews and recommends to the Board of County Commission such items including but not limited to, development applications; rezoning applications; land use amendments; amendments to the General Code, Land Development Regulations, and Comprehensive Growth Management Plan. The Local Planning Agency convenes the third Thursday of each month, and if necessary, may also convene the first Thursday of the month. The Local Planning Agency meetings are televised on MCTV. Minutes are also prepared and can be obtained in the Growth Management Department.

Tobacco Free Partnership Meeting
The mission of the Tobacco-Free Partnership of Martin County is to mobilize community partners to establish long-lasting system and policy changes that promote tobacco-free social norms to prevent usage of tobacco and nicotine products by youth/young adults, encourage and support tobacco cessation, and eliminate health hazards of secondhand smoke. The Tobacco Free Partnership is a group of concerned citizens working together to reduce tobacco use initiation and help connect current users to cessation services and tools. Public participation is encouraged.
