Donation of Books & Other Items
Through the Friends of the Martin County Library System, the Library accepts small donations of recent books, audio books, music CDs, and DVDs. Items not accepted include donations of electronic equipment, old newspapers, magazines or periodicals, and textbooks or encyclopedias.
- Donations should be clean, without odor or stains and in good condition.
- Small donations are those that can be carried by the donor in a single trip.
- If you have a large donation, for instance several boxes, please call the Friends Book Depot at (772) 283-3124
Donations will be evaluated and, if appropriate, will be added to the collection or put in the Friends of the Library book sale. Proceeds from the book sales are used to supplement Library programs.
While donations of quality items are gratefully accepted, neither the Friends nor Library staff can be responsible for the valuation of a gift. We cannot appraise donated materials or indicate a value on the receipt. If desired, the donor may receive a Donation Receipt noting the number and type of materials donated.
The Friends of the Martin County Library System, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit, is organized to provide monetary and volunteer support to the Martin County Library System.
