ABOUT

River Cove Park is a small 3-acre preserve that provides access to the Indian River Lagoon, and is used to educate the public about Martin County’s unique natural resources and to conserve mangrove tidal swamp and coastal hammock habitat.

AMENITIES

  • Parking facilities
  • Sidewalks
  • A picnic pavilion
  • Beach area along the Indian River Lagoon

One of the most exciting aspects of this property is its role in the education of our area’s youth. The River Cove property is used as a field trip location for the Environmental Studies Center (ESC), operated by the Martin County School District.

Approximately 12,000 students visit the ESC each year to participate in hands-on field investigations while exploring the Indian River Lagoon, mangrove swamps, freshwater ponds and wetlands.

Some students who have participated in lessons and field investigations through the ESC have grown to become environmental engineers, marine biologists and ecosystem managers.

The property is also part of the Florida's Designated Paddling Trails. The Martin County Blueway Paddling Trails cover close to 38 miles of waterways along the Indian River Lagoon and the St. Lucie River.

While exploring this unique and special place, please remember to “Take Only Pictures and Leave Only Footprints."
