Who Repairs What Road?

In Martin County, roadways may be owned and maintained by various entities. To determine who is responsible for the maintenance and operation of specific roads, view our Roadway Assets Map. Use the legend for ownership details, and zoom in on the map to view the highlighted roadways. 

Here’s how to direct your concerns based on ownership:

  • Martin County Owned Rights-of-Way: The Martin County Traffic Division handles maintenance of roadways owned by Martin County.
  • State Owned Rights-of-Way: For issues on state-owned roadways, please contact the Florida Department of Transportation - District 4.
  • Municipal Owned Rights-of-Way: Concerns regarding roadways owned by municipalities should be directed to the respective municipality.
  • Privately Owned Rights-of-Way: Maintenance of privately owned roadways is the responsibility of the private owner.
