Residential Readiness Program
In a typical home fire, you may have as little as 1 to 2 minutes to escape from the time the smoke alarm sounds. Escape planning and practice can help you make the most of the time you have, giving everyone enough time to get out safely. To help you prepare, Martin County Fire Rescue is offering residents the opportunity to participate in our Residential Readiness Program.
The Residential Readiness Program will provide you with important fire safety information and empower you to make small changes around your home that will help to protect you and your family in the event of a fire. For those that need assistance, we will visit your home and install your smoke alarms or change your batteries for you.
You will receive:
- Residential Readiness Guide
- Guidance in the development of a Family Evacuation Plan
- Valuable emergency preparedness tips and information
- If you’ve recently purchased smoke alarms and feel unsafe installing them, we will help at no cost
