Emergency Management - Our Mission

The mission of the Emergency Management Division is to develop and maintain emergency plans and coordinate use of County, State and Federal resources to prepare, respond, recover and mitigate the effects of natural and man-made disasters on the citizens of Martin County.

All Hazards Planning includes, but is not limited to: hurricane preparedness, wildfires, hazardous materials incidents, severe weather, terrorism, flooding, tornadoes, radiological planning, and pandemics.

The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is located in the Public Safety Complex at 800 SE Monterey Road in Stuart, FL

Goals and Objectives of the Emergency Management Division

  • Provide training for disaster staffing
  • Update and maintain a Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan
  • Enhance mitigation activities in Martin County
  • Provide easy access of preparedness, planning, and emergency information to the citizens of Martin County
  • Enhance communications with the local media, community associations and businesses
  • Maintain an integrated countywide emergency communications system
  • Ensure compliance with NIMS (National Incident Management System) and other Federal and State mandates
